Why would you like to serve on the PSC?

As a military spouse, I have attended many churches all across the country and feel that I have much experience with what qualities make a good or bad pastor. Additionally, I have a strong desire to see our church thrive with a pastor who focuses on biblical truth and teaching. As a regular attendee of westtown, I have a vested personal interest to ensure that the next pastor is someone that is a great fit for Westtown all around. Lastly, I feel that the Lord has called me towards this type of service within the church.

What spiritual gifts would you be bringing to the PSC?

Teaching is the main spiritual gift that I have felt the Lord call me towards within the church and I have used this gift to lead women through Bible studies for many years. Because of my knowledge of the Bible and also what I’ve learned through attempting to teach it, I feel that I have a pretty good discernment on whether a person is a good teacher or not of God’s word. This would be the main gift that I feel I would be bringing to the table, and I feel it is an important one.

How have you served (or are serving) at Westtown?

I’ve served for several years as a women’s bible study leader at Westtown. I have also served in the childcare/sunday school previously as well as the womens leadership team, but my main area of service would be with womens ministries.

How are you serving Christ’s Kingdom outside of Westtown?

My service outside of the church is limited as I run a business and have three younger children. However, we have served alongside the New Life Warehouse Ministry as a family a number of times. Besides actual service based volunteering, I feel that my service to Christ’s kingdom is more personal based. I frequently support friends or acquaintances who are going through hard times by providing scripture and Godly wisdom. I teach my kids how to live a Christ-like life through their interactions at school or sports. Through my business, I run things with a Christ-like mindset.

Summarize your prayer life:

I would say that my prayer life is a continuous conversation with God throughout the day. I have set-aside prayer times where it is more structured and intentionally reverent, but my daily life carries constant communication with God through all I do.

Summarize your spiritual journey in Christ:

I grew up in a strict Lutheran church with no real concept of the freedom of Christ. I felt that my faith relationship was works-based and although I believed in God, did not understand the true meaning of being a Christian. I went through some rebellious years as a high schooler and in college, but the Lord in his grace constantly sought me out and taught me and refined me and sanctified me to the point and having true understanding of the Christ relationship. And He continues to sanctify me always.

Is there anything else that you wish to share with the congregation about your desire to serve on the PSC?

As a new attendee of Westtown several years ago, I struggled with the teaching that was happening at the church. I felt it was confusing and lacking in many ways. However, I felt that the Lord truly was calling my family to remain at the church despite my feelings. After years of prayer about that, I felt that the Lord bringing Pastor Morgan was a specific answer to that and helped solve some of my “issues”. Fast forward, and I feel strongly that the Lord has placed me here with this intention to serve in this way.
