Why would you like to serve on the PSC?

I would like to serve on the PSC because multiple people asked me to consider being a part of the committee. As a long time member of Westtown I would like to help find our next pastor and be part of this process. The leader of our church is an important position and one that needs to be carefully considered. I feel I have both the Biblical knowledge and discernment necessary to be a part of this committee. My family has invested years into Westtown and I would like to help find a qualified candidate to be the pastor.

What spiritual gifts would you be bringing to the PSC?

I am considered to be a good judge of character and will be bringing discernment, wisdom, faith and knowledge to the PSC.

How have you served (or are serving) at Westtown?

I have previously served in Kids Town as a teacher, youth group (both middle and high school) as a volunteer for the weekly meetings and as camp chaperone to ms and hs camps for 5+ years. I helped my husband start a Bible study group for young adults when our high school graduates had no ministry established for them. I currently serve in the nursery.

How are you serving Christ’s Kingdom outside of Westtown?

I teach at a Christian School where I am able to share biblical knowledge and the love of Jesus on a daily basis. I am involved with planning and implementing service opportunities for our high school students providing them opportunities to serve others. My position also gives me the opportunity to provide counsel and encouragement to our students and their parents. I provide transportation for students who wish to attend Bible studies and youth group with my own girls. I am also a volunteer driver for a group home for mentally challenged adults, providing transportation when needed.

Do you believe that the Bible is infallible as it is the inspired Word of God?

Yes

Do you admit that you are a sinner, totally dependent on the atoning work of Jesus Christ for you salvation?

Yes

Are you willing to perform the duties of the PSC to represent the interests of Westtown Church and its members according to the Presbyterian Church in America’s Book of Church Order (PCA-BCO)?

Yes

Summarize your prayer life:

I pray throughout my day. I talk to God as I move about my day praising His faithfulness, praying for His will in the needs of others, and just asking for help. I pray daily for those around me, for wisdom in my daily life, and often just thank Him for His faithfulness to supply all our needs. I often use this time to remember what God has accomplished in my life and praise Him for it.

Summarize your spiritual journey in Christ:

I grew up in a “Christian” home. As a young child we were at church every time the doors were open. At the age of 6 I walked an aisle, said a prayer, and was baptized. I could give all the right answers when it came to questions about the Bible and salvation. It wasn’t until I was 18 that I realized that all of that was nothing. I knew that I was a sinner in need of God’s grace and that repeating words definitely did not transform my heart of stone into a heart of flesh. I responded to His call and gave my life to Jesus. After that I knew I was different. Since then I have continually grown in my faith and knowledge of Jesus and the Bible. Through many hardships and trials I can see the hand of God in my life bringing to where I am today.

Is there anything else that you wish to share with the congregation about your desire to serve on the PSC?

My family has been at Westtown for 12 years. We have seen the many transitions over the years and I would like to be a part of this next portion in Westtown’s journey.
